High-Ranking Convenience Distributor Adds Notebook Functionality

CHICAGO – October 1, 2009 – Software developer Ai2, formerly Access International, announced today that one of their clients would expand their software package.  The H.T.  Hackney Company of Knoxville, TN elected to purchase Ai2’s POET solution for their salespeople and sales managers.

"H.T. Hackney wanted the flexibility of a laptop solution that shows more data onscreen than a handheld," said Ray Walsh, vice president of sales for Ai2.  "They’ve already got [handheld application] POW in place for their salespeople, but some users prefer the laptop.  I’m glad we could deliver for them."

POET, an acronym for Portable Order Entry Tool, is an application that allows a mobile sales representative to handle orders, returns, accounting information, menu planning, margin management and more.  POET® runs on Windows on almost any notebook or pen tablet PC and is compatible with the upcoming Windows 7.

As one of the largest wholesale distributors in the United States, Hackney services over 20,000 retail customers and stocks over 25,000 products.  With strategically located distribution centers, Hackney provides a distribution network easily covering 21 states.  For more information about H.T.  Hackney, visit the company's website

Ai2 is a 23-year old software firm headquartered in downtown Chicago.  Their applications are used by over 35,000 users each day to capture over 30 billion dollars in sales each year.  Ai2 improves the order entry process for some of the nation’s largest distributors in foodservice, convenience store, grocery, beverage, hardware, medical, beauty and industrial supply.  For more information about Ai2, visit www.ai2.com.
