Atlantic Dominion Replaces Telxons with ACE™ from Ai2
Convenience Store Distributor Updates and Upgrades Customer Technology
CHICAGO – March 4, 2010 – Software development company Ai2 announced today that Atlantic Dominion Distributors of Virginia Beach, VA will implement Ai2’s customer order entry solutions ACE™ and HERO®.
Atlantic chose Ai2 for its dependability, functionality and existing technology partnerships in the convenience store industry. Ai2 serves many of the top 25 convenience store distributors in the United States. With ACE, Atlantic will solve the communication problems that are a daily nuisance with devices manufactured in the 1980s and 1990s. Atlantic’s customers will now be able to scan, take orders, maintain stock levels and more. This improved management of sales information will allow an Atlantic customer to spend less time placing an order and more time managing a store.

ACE features two-way communication between a retailer and a distributor that improves business operations for both. Ai2 provides the computer hardware through a partnership with hardware manufacturer Datalogic. ACE handles scanning, orders, special promotions, in-transit items and several other aspects of the retailer’s order entry process.
The history of Atlantic Dominion begins with Leroy W. Davis founding the Old Dominion Tobacco Company in 1875. The company began as a cigar manufacturing establishment, supplying retail tobacco stores with handmade cigars. In 1902, Mr. Davis again bought out several other tobacco companies and formed the L.W. Davis Tobacco Company. In 1904, the Old Dominion Tobacco Company was incorporated.
