Canadian Food Distributor Migrates to New Ai2 Solution
Wholesaler Migrates Salespeople, Adds Online Order Entry
CHICAGO – March 4, 2010 – Software developer Ai2 announced today that one of its top Canadian foodservice distributors will move from one Ai2 solution for salespeople to another. The company is migrating from Ai2’s OrderWriter® to Ai2’s POET® solution for mobile salespeople. The company will also add Ai2’s WebWriter solution for its customers.

Walsh said this customer chose POET for its ease of use and additional application function compared to its current solution, OrderWriter, also from Ai2. Common foodservice tasks like importing and exporting data to and from Microsoft Excel are now automated instead of the older manual processes involving cutting and pasting. “POET can save each sales rep time every day, and it’s an improvement over OrderWriter,” said Walsh. The company also chose to give its customers the ability to order via the Web with Ai2’s WebWriter solution. “When a customer can order online, that’s a lot of phone time and manpower that’s saved on a daily basis, and the customer gets his or her order in faster,” said Walsh.
POET, an acronym for Portable Order Entry Tool, is an application that allows a mobile sales representative to handle orders, returns, accounting information, margin management and more. The majority of Ai2’s clients are in foodservice, but Walsh stressed that POET is a powerful solution for all types of distributors. POET® runs on Windows on almost any notebook, netbook or pen tablet PC and is fully compatible with Windows 7. POET is an update and an upgrade to Ai2’s flagship notebook solution, OrderWriter.
