Tennessee Distributor Improves Sales Rep Functionality
CHICAGO - November 16, 2010 - Software developer Ai2 announced today that Palmer Foodservice of Shelbyville, TN, would migrate to Ai2's POET solution for mobile salespeople. Palmer had previously used Ai2's flagship OrderWriter product for several years and decided to stay with Ai2 while providing a more updated application to its sales team.

Walsh said this customer chose POET for its speed, ease of use and additional application function compared to its current solution, OrderWriter, also from Ai2. Common salesperson tasks such as collecting payment and applying it to open invoices will now be automated for Palmer. “POET can save every [District Sales Rep] time every day,,” said Walsh. Palmer also needed to send a lot of data back and forth between salespeople and the host computer. “Our solutions are designed to minimize the time a rep needs to spend downloading new data,” said Walsh.
POET, an acronym for Portable Order Entry Tool, is an application that allows a mobile sales representative to handle orders, returns, accounting information, margin management and more. The majority of Ai2’s clients are in foodservice, but Walsh stressed that POET is a powerful solution for all types of distributors. POET® runs on Windows on almost any notebook, netbook or pen tablet PC and is fully compatible with Windows 7.
