HLA Selects ProSel from Ai2
C-Store Distributor Adapts Tablet Technology
CHICAGO - May 31, 2011 - Software development firm Ai2 announced today that Harold Levinson Associates of Farmingdale, New York will roll out Ai2's application for the Apple iPad. The application is called ProSel and it is designed to automate the functions of the mobile sales representative.
"We're thrilled that 'HLA' is coming aboard with the ProSel app," said Douglas Katich, CEO for Ai2. "We've delivered them a good value in the past with our handheld solutions for sales reps and retailers, so they know we can help them as they move to the next phase." HLA currently uses Windows Mobile-based products from Ai2 for order entry and transmission.
ProSel debuted at an expo hosted by the American Wholesale Marketers Association in February of 2011. Since then, Ai2 reports a great deal of interest in the application as easy-to-use tablet computers flood the marketplace. "We see the iPad as the category leader, from a user standpoint and from our perspective as software engineers," commented Katich. ProSel is designed to combine the ease of iPad applications with the rigorous data demands of a mobile sales force responsible for hundreds of customers and thousands of items.
Since its introduction in April 2010, the Apple iPad has emerged as the fastest-selling and most talked about tablet computer. With the "App Store" that boasts over 300,000 titles, it has been a revolutionary consumer product as well as a popular development platform for the software industry. Analysts have forecast that approximately 45 million iPads will be in use by the end of 2011.
HLA is one of the largest distributors of convenience store products in North America, making three thousand deliveries per day in the northeast United States. HLA has 420 employees at their 600,000-sq. ft. facility at their 22-acre site in Farmingdale, NY. For more information about HLA, please visit the company's website.
