For Immediate Release
Pigeonholes Content Management App for iPad Garners 500 Downloads in One Week
Ai2's Latest Offering Popular on App Store
TweetJust one week after its release to the App Store, Ai2's latest solution achieved 500 downloads from around the globe. The application, Pigeonholes, is designed for any company that needs to disseminate and sync files and content to the field using the easy platform of the iPad.
"It's a big sign that companies are adapting the iPad to save themselves time, money and headaches every day," said Douglas Katich, CEO for Ai2. "Without cloud storage and the security risks and fees that come with that approach, any company can use Pigeonholes to keep everyone on the same page."
The free version of the application can be found on the App Store here.
Responding to their clients' need to distribute flyers, reports, item images and various other media to a field sales force, Ai2 designed Pigeonholes to digitize and automate what has become a tedious process for many companies. The application is not a cloud storage solution, but a fast synchronization between one central server and hundreds or thousands of field iPads. According to Ai2, the benefits of ProSel can be immediately realized by almost any organization. "Flyers come out every week." said Douglas Katich, CEO for Ai2. "A field sales rep needs access to hundreds of documents as well as other tools to make presentations to customers. Printing all that in color costs some of our clients hundreds or thousands of dollars per month." In addition to the printer savings, Pigeonholes makes far easier to "correct a mistake electronically and control the flow of information to the field," added Katich.
Other features include the ability to instantly send messages to all field iPads from a central location. Katich stressed that since many Ai2 clients are in foodservice and sell perishable items, this can prevent over-ordering and help during product recalls. Pigeonholes is built into Ai2's order entry and sales force automation solution ProSel™, something Katich acknowledged as "a response to what our clients need from us - the ability to make a high-touch presentation and generate a sales order, on one device, with one app."
Licensees will pay no cloud storage fees and the solution is priced to compete in the mobile content management marketplace. Administrators will be allowed to sync the iPads on-demand or the process can happen automatically. Administrators need only place a document one time to sync it to hundreds or thousands of iPads in the field, something Katich said "gives our clients an advantage over similar solutions."
Ai2 (formerly Access International) was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in downtown Chicago. Their applications are used by over 40,000 users each day to capture over 75 billion dollars in sales each year. Ai2 improves the order entry process for some of the nation’s largest distributors in foodservice, convenience store, grocery, beverage, hardware, medical, beauty and industrial supply.
