Another Distributor Replaces Legacy System with Ai2
CHICAGO - November 30, 2011 - Software developer Ai2 announced today that they once again successfully replaced another legacy system with their POET solution at a broadline foodservice distributor.
Taking advantage of the fact that some of the larger software developers are unable to meet their clients' migration needs, Ai2 provides solutions for automating the sales process in broadline foodservice distribution. The company competes with larger solution providers, many of whom are unable to meet the needs of small and mid-size distributors. Ai2's aim is making their solutions flexible and scalable enough to be viable options for any size distributor.
"If you put your clients on the back burner, they're not going to wait forever," said Douglas Katich, CEO for Ai2. "We pride ourselves on offering solutions that we deploy on time and under budget. We offer easier migration to newer solutions and better support; it's one of the many ways we differentiate ourselves."
POET, an acronym for Portable Order Entry Tool, is a Windows-based application that allows a mobile sales representative to handle orders, returns, accounting information, margin management and more. The majority of Ai2’s clients are in foodservice, but Katich stressed that POET is a powerful solution for all types of distributors. POET® runs on Windows on almost any notebook, netbook or pen tablet PC.
Ai2 (formerly Access International) was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in downtown Chicago. Their applications are used by over 75,000 users each day to capture over 75 billion dollars in sales each year. Ai2 improves the order entry process for some of the nation’s largest distributors in foodservice, convenience store, grocery, beverage, hardware, medical, beauty and industrial supply.
