Dowling's Goes "Pro" With Sales Force App from Ai2
Vermont Convenience Distributor Increases Functionality In The Field
CHICAGO - December 30, 2011 - Distribution software specialist Ai2 today announced the addition of Dowlings, Inc. of Milton, Vermont, to its growing customer family. Dowlings will deploy an application from Ai2 called ProSel, designed to automate a field sales representative's tasks on an iPad. Dowling's is a convenience and grocery distributor serving New Hampshire, New York and Vermont.
Until the agreement to roll out the iPad solution from Ai2, Dowling's was using Telxon devices for order entry and communication with its headquarters and back-office computer system. Telxon ruled the distribution industry in the 1980s and 90s but today's tech environment allows the mobile rep access to a lot more information and application functionality.
"Dowling's is making a big step forward in providing a lot more to their customers," said Douglas Katich, CEO for Ai2. "We're going to speed up their order entry process, reduce the amount of returns, and automate their document distribution process as well." Dowling's also plans to use ProSel to print bar code shelf labels from a wi-fi enabled mobile printer.
ProSel is Ai2's latest addition to its software suite for distribution professionals. The app is designed to give a user online and offline access to a complete product catalog, images, a robust search function, content management, document syncing and more. The app debuted in early 2011 and has received a lot of attention from whole distributors across several segments like foodservice, hardware and liquor.
